In the summer of 2019, Honley Civic Society will be participating in the village celebrations of Peace Day 1919, when the nation rejoiced at the end of the Great War, with the signing of the Treaty of Versailles.
Plans are at an early stage but your help is sought in remembering how the villagers spent the war years, in mills, in munitions factories or raising funds for the comfort of the troops and the Belgian refugees, who lived here.
Our book, HONLEY REMEMBERS Village Life in the Great War, is nearing completion and will be published in June. Details will follow or see our New Titles page.
