Amongst the future events we shall be attending:-
HONLEY REMEMBERS Peace Day 2019
Honley Civic Society will be participating in the village celebrations of Peace Day 1919, when the nation rejoiced at the end of the Great War, with the signing of the Treaty of Versailles. This has been organised by Honley Village Community Trust .
Join us for a weekend of celebration at the Old People’s Park from 12.00 noon. There will be an Exhibition revealing the lives of Honley’s villagers in The Great War held in the Village Hall, Moorbottom, on Saturday 20th July, 2019 from 2.00pm. In addition there will be entertainment and refreshments.
Trinity Church, opposite the hall, will have an exhibition of photographs from the Honley Auxiliary Hospital, which was run there from 1916 to 1919.
Also on Sunday 21st, there will be a service of commemoration at St Mary’s Parish Church at 10.00am followed by the unveiling of an information board and seat in the Old People’s Park, Westgate.
Honley Civic Society book, HONLEY REMEMBERS Village Life in the Great War, is nearing completion and will be published in June. Details will follow or see our New Title Page

Meet at Honley Graveyard at Green Cliff for a 10.30am start.
